Nivari Doffra doesn't explain herself.
She arrived in Carnstone with her serrated whip, her kohl-darkened eyes, and a past she keeps behind her teeth. She is the most dangerous person in any room she enters and she knows it — which would be insufferable if she weren't also, when it counts, exactly who you need beside you.
Her family is Sarthi, she'll tell you. Erith made her its own. She speaks of her homeland with the particular fluency of someone who left it a long time ago and hasn't looked back.
Except sometimes the way she talks about Sarth doesn't quite fit the story she's telling. The knowledge runs too deep. The anger runs too old. She has her reasons for being here. She hasn't shared them yet.
